Wood turned spice jars
Handcrafted wood kitchen canisters
Wooden kitchen containers, the spice jars are made as individual vases or sets of vases, the sets are made in unfinished resinous cypress, locust and cherry. The Large kitchen vases for salt or other uses are in pine, larch, cherry and hornbeam wood.
All the jars are handmade, and the wood finish is remarkably accurate. They are functional and suitable for kitchen shelves. Each jar is equipped with a lid that can be easily lifted for the knob or made to be taken directly with the hands.
The vases are finished with natural products, beeswax, vegetal wax, and vegetal oil and the interior is left natural.
The sets of spice jars are made in such a way that they maintain characteristics in common, but never be perfectly the same, highlighting the non-copying craftsmanship.
Handcrafted wood spice jar
The spice jars are turned along the grain starting from a log or branch. The branch is roughened between the spindles and then is fixed on one side to the chuck of the lathe, the interior is excavated digging from the head with a spindle gauge, the external surface is shaped and finished sanding. The lid is then realized, from a section of the same wood log, by creating an interlocking joint that makes a seal with the jar.
